Forever and Always (Cactus Creek Cowboys #3) by Leigh Greenwood

Ever since Logan Holstock, aka Elliot Lowe, wealthy Chicago businessman discovered that he only has a few months to live due to a mysterious illness, he leaves his life in the city behind and travels to the small Western town of Cactus Corner to seek out his long lost brothers and prepare for the end. Logan pitches a tent out in the wild and begins his stay. While is town, he happens upon a bank robbery and puts the robbers down.

Sibyl Spencer becomes a widow the day that she meets the hero stranger at her husband's bank, but this widow isn't about to go into deep mourning over the husband who treated her and their daughter with great disdain. Instead, this courageous young lady picks up the pieces and becomes an independent woman, with the help of Logan, whose background in business is a great help to Sibyl. The more time the pair spend in each other's company, the closer they become, but Logan knows a relationship is only a dream since his time on earth is marked in weeks, even if his only wish is to spend whatever time he has left with her and her daughter.

When the woman Logan left behind in Chicago suddenly appears to convince Logan to return to Chicago, a whole load of trouble begins to stir, but the town makes Logan one of their own and once he find his place, he will struggle to keep it. All he needs is a miracle.

What a wonderful story! Leigh Greenwood's FOREVER AND ALWAYS is a poignant tale of a man who wants to live as he sees fit until his time is up. It's a story of hope and of understanding. Logan Holstock is a formidable man. Finding out of his impending demise doesn't make him retreat from life, it makes him embrace it, it gives him the courage to seek out the brothers he lost early in life. Sibyl didn't know she had it in her to stand up for herself. Going from an overbearing father to an even more overbearing husband could suck the very life out of a woman, but given the chance, Sibyl shines. I love how Sibyl opens her heart and mind to Logan, who feels he looks monstrous with his bloated appearance. She gives him an insight that no one else could. This third installment of the CACTUS CREEK series comes full  circle with the Holstock brothers and their families and it is a wonder to observe.

COASTAL MAGIC 2016 SPOTLIGHT ON HILDIE MCQUEEN

Hildie McQueen at RT2015 in Dallas
Always a hoot...

Hi all! Today I have one of the funniest and most talented ladies I know, author Hildie McQueen. I had the great fortune of meeting her several years ago at my first Lori Foster's RAGT event and since then I have been enjoying her antics and her books. Hidlie is one of the featured authors at COASTAL MAGIC CONFERENCE, which takes place in Florida in February 2016.I hope you enjoy this little give and take that we have put together!
ENJOY!

1. What is your biggest vice?

I adore purses, totes, bags or whatever you call them!!  I love to look at bags, touch them hug them close and of course buy them.  Funny thing is once I own them, the love affair can be over, so I make sure to wear them right away and get compliments.  The more compliments my purses gets, the more likely it will be worn over and over!

2. If you could interview one person (and it doesn’t have to be a writer) who would it be?

Don't wrestle me to the ground and kick my butt Kimmie, but I would definitely interview David Gandy.  It's been on my bucket list for years to meet him, so given the option I would jump at the chance!  For those who don't know who he is, David Gandy is a British supermodel who happens to be super hot.

3. What will always make you smile, even on a bad day?

Dogs.  I have grown to be such a furry critter lover, especially dogs.  Can't help but smile when my dogs get so excited about the little things in life.  What a reminder that in every moment we should stop and appreciate the gift.

4. Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?

I was just thinking this morning how I wanted to open a tea shop named "Shades of Earl Grey" and have all kinds of Earl Grey blends.  Think about it.  Lavender Earl Grey, Earl Grey Crème, Earl Grey Chai...  I think it would be a hit.  Add honey and cream, you'll sip your way to heaven. And yes, I add honey to black tea...I know some people say it's a no-no, but in my opinion it's an "Oh Yeah!"

5. If you couldn’t be a writer anymore, what profession would you take up?

I would be a hot mess because I don't have a Plan B at this juncture. This question made me think a lot and finally I came up with probably going back to administrative work or maybe I'd be the next YouTube sensation as a cover model stalker. Wait, I am going to open "Shades of Grey" tea shop Yeah that's it!

Don't forget to stop by Hildie McQueen's Website and check out all her reads.

LET'S BLOG THE BOOK **No Place Like Home (Tallenmere #4) by Mysti Parker**

An irreversible curse, an impossible mission. Can she catch The Tyger before it’s too late?
Set in the fantasy world of Tallenmere, this story continues the saga of this tumultuous era with Mirabelle Hearton, who played a supporting role in Hearts in Exile (Book #3). It’s also the beginning of a new turn in the series called Tallenmere Unleashed. Starting here, each book is more intense, more graphic, and much hotter than its predecessors. This is not a book for youngsters or those who enjoy light romance. You’ve been warned!

In Port Valor, it’s dangerous to be different. Especially for sixteen-year-old Mirabelle Hearton, whose psychic abilities could put her entire family in danger. To protect them, she left the city and her childhood sweetheart, Lysander Devlin, behind to live a life of servitude in Leogard’s Temple. Ten years later, someone discovered her mind-bending talents and forced her to send an innocent woman into exile.
As punishment for her crimes, she must return to Port Valor to seek out a dangerous mercenary called The Tyger. He's already threatened the lives of her family and is rumored to have killed countless others for the right price.
Mirabelle’s time is running out. She has two months to bring the Tyger to justice or succumb to an excruciating death from an irreversible curse. As frightening as her mission is, facing Lysander again may be the greatest challenge of her life.
Despite their difficult reunion, she and Lysander must band together to face an evil force that could sap the very souls from everyone they love. Mirabelle must also make a choice—catch The Tyger and redeem her sins, or give into feelings long buried and risk losing everything.

Excerpt:

“So, why are you back, Mira? Ten years with no word from you—I assumed you were devoted to the Temple or dead.”
“I’m sorry,” I said, paying undue attention to a dried spot of blood on the table. “Didn’t you get my letters?”
“Yes, and they were very well-written.” He huffed out a laugh. “Both of them were so vivid, I hardly knew you were gone.”
“I guess you’re still angry with me.”
He cocked an eyebrow. “Angry? Whatever for? I’ve had a lovely life, as I’m sure you’ve had in Leogard. You heard I’m getting married?”
“Yes,” I said, my mouth suddenly dry, but I forced a raspy, “Congratulations.”
“Why, thank you. The moon will be perfect for the ceremony tomorrow night. Full and bright. Of course, you’re welcome to attend.”
What was I supposed to say to that, having been on the brink of marrying him myself? I settled on, “That’s very kind of you.”
Narrowing his eyes, he leaned in and propped his elbow on the table. “Well…you still haven’t told me why you’ve returned. My parents’ death wasn’t deemed important enough, though your note was sympathetic. It must be some official Temple business.”
I really wished he’d stop trying to make eye contact. Being reminded of his parents’ death cut me deep—they were like a second set of parents to me, even called me their daughter. I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye. The dull roar around us had grown louder. Another fight had begun in the back corner. One of Marlow’s twin wives broke a bottle over her sister’s head, and soon they were rolling on the floor, throwing punches and pulling hair. Marlow ran over, doing his best to pull them apart. Everyone else turned their attention to the latest brawl, cheering on one wife or the other.
But, Lysander kept his eyes on me, waiting. With everyone distracted, I decided to tell him part of the truth. If there was any chance the Tyger actually existed, he might have heard something about him. “I’m looking for someone called the Tyger.”
“Really? Is he another jilted lover of yours?”
“No.” I crossed my arms, knowing I should have been prepared for resentment. “He’s supposedly an outlaw who may pose a danger to Leogard and my own family. But I suspect he’s just a rumor.”
“You didn’t come all this way to confirm a rumor, did you? What are your plans for this Tyger, should you be so fortunate as to find him?”
He’d laugh at me, but I’d already told him this much and had only a few weeks to live. Might as well surrender the last of my pride. “I’m supposed to capture him and bring him back to the Priestess.”
“So, you’re a bounty hunter now? An odd assignment for a Temple acolyte. But, I do have it on good authority that the Tyger isn’t just a rumor.”
My eyes widened, and I sat up straight, daring to look him in the eye. Could he actually exist, or was Lysander punishing me by leading me to believe in a phantom, only to crush my hopes for a good laugh?
“Let me guess,” I said, “he was here earlier, but I just missed him, right?”
“Not exactly.”
“Fine, I’ll bite. Then where is he?”
He smiled wickedly. “You’re looking at him.

RAFFLECOPTER GIVEAWAY
THE FIRST THREE Ebooks IN THE TALLENMERE SERIES

The Reluctant Duchess by Sharon Cullen

After the violent murder of her cousin, Lady Sara Emerson begins receiving letters from the alleged perpetrator. Not knowing any other way to solve the mystery of who is sending the letters, Sara seeks out her deceased cousin's fiance, Gabriel Ferguson, the Duke of Rossmoyne. When Ross discovers the goings on he takes Sara into his protection in order to get to the bottom of his lost love's murder. Sara is nothing like Meredith, but that doesn't stop Ross from noticing Sara for who she is.

Sara places her trust in the foreboding duke and even under the cloud of danger, their attraction for one another quickly comes to the surface and Sara being in danger is not something that Ross will accept. The loss of one woman was enough, the loss of Sara is just not a possibility. But there is someone out there who threatens their safety and like it or not, Sara and the duke must find out who it is.

The Reluctant Duchess is a lovey tale by Sharon Cullen. This well written story is compelling and intriguing. Both Rossmoyne and Sara are interesting characters full of life and personality. The mystery fuels their romance, the danger only adding to it. I enjoyed The Reluctant Duchess by Sharon Cullen and think you will too.

RELEASE DAY HAPPINESS: One Wild Winter's Eve (Honeycote #4) by Anne Barton REVIEW,Q&A AND GIVEAWAY

Sometimes young love is not meant to be, especially when the lady is of the ton and the one she loves is a groom in the family stables. But then again, even time does not assuage the feelings one has for the other and ONE WILD WINTER'S EVE by Anne Barton is a perfect example.

For as much as Lady Rose Sherbourne's family is loving and caring, they are also a very involved bunch. After the disappearance of her mother, Rose never lost hope that she would discover where her mother had gone, even though her family are still angry at their abandonment by their mother. Occasionally being around this family is too much. So when Rose needed time away, she did so in the form of a companion to the older and wise, Lady Bonneville. What Rose could never have fathomed, was seeing the very man who evoked such feeling all those years ago.

Catching Rose rifling through his employer's desk, the former groom now steward, Charles is shocked and surprised that the lady before him is the very one love from his past. No longer the silent waif of a girl, Rose has grown into a beautiful woman who still evokes emotion in Charles, who knows he has no business even looking her way. Rose needs help and she asks Charles to assist her in seeking information about her mother from his employer, Lady Yardley, who was one of Rose's mother's best friends. He really shouldn't help, but his feelings for Rose overshadow anything else and after leaving her without a word all those years ago, he seeks to make up for it.

Rose's feelings for Charles only blossom when she is around the now confident and handsome man. She cares naught for their difference in station, but he can't let that difference out of his mind, even if he's fallen for her hook, line and sinker, all over again. Rose's determination to show Charles that his hesitation of being with her is a lost cause is an emotionally charged part of this story. Rose is also adamant about finding her mother, and while that journey is important, it is also a impassioned one. Seeing two people, so perfect for one another, kept apart by social class is hard enough to deal with, but when forces outside their relationship seek to push them apart, it's a wonder watching them try to overcome the trials put in their path.

ONE WILD WINTER'S EVE by Anne Barton is the fourth story in the HONEYCOTE series and it is a wonderful one. Rose never gave up on her search for her mother, and when she has the chance to solve the mystery of where she is, she goes full on ahead, even if in the end, heartbreak will be the resolution. She also never gave up on her love for Charles and that love for him is what gets her through her trials. Charles has always been a good man, but now he has the chance to be the right man for Rose, even if taking that leap causes upheaval. I loved this book. Anne Barton is so good at tugging at the reader's heartstrings, and with ONE WILD WINTER'S EVE, there is no exception.

Anne Barton and I at the WRW Luncheon

About Anne Barton
Anne Barton began swiping romance novels off her mom's bookshelf as a teenager, so when she had the chance to spend a semester in London-home to her favorite heroes-she packed her bags and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead.

Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and in 2011 won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband (who, sadly, is not a peer of the realm-but a great guy nonetheless) and her three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and caffeinated beverages of all kinds.

The Dangerous Duke of Dinnisfree (Whisper of Scandal #5) by Julie Johnstone *FLASH GIVEAWAY!*

Once again I am blown away by Julie Johnstone and her innate ability to suck the reader into her world and never let go!

In the latest A WHISPER OF SCANDAL NOVEL, THE DANGEROUS DUKE OF DINNISFREE, we have the duke, Justin Holleman, who has been in service to the crown for some time now. His oath to protect the crown above all else keeps him focused, and his complacency in all other areas of his life, leaves him unable to form relationships beyond the surface. Now, the Prince Regent has given Justin the task of retrieving love letters that Prinny sent to his mistress, which if were made public, would cause trouble for the prince's game of divorcing his wife. His loyalty to his prince comes at a cost.

Miss Arabella Carthright is frantic over her inability to pay for her mother's stay at the Stanhope Home for the Mentally Impaired. The young miss spends her time crafting gowns for the ton. Even though things are grim for Arabella, the gowns she has made for the wealthy Lady Conyngham should render enough coin for the home. Unfortunately when Arabella arrives, Lady Conyngham is in a tizzy over something and takes her bad mood out on the seamstress.  Lady Conyngham refuses the gowns and furthermore promises to tell Arabella's boss about the issue, which will undoubtedly leave Arabella without a job. Not only is Arabella's mother in the home, but her father is recovering from a stroke and cannot help in the day to day either. Everything is on poo Arabella's shoulders.

When Arabella exits Lady Conyngham's rooms, she is met by a mysterious man who offers to help her gain coin. Desperation makes Arabella do things she would never have though possible before, thus embroiling her in danger as well as trouble. When Justin meets Miss Carthright feelings emerge that he tries to hide deep down, but her tenacity and her beauty cause his emotions to rise for this troubled woman. The more involved the duke and the miss become, the more dangerous and exciting things morph into and the emotions that rise between Justin and Arabella could lead to demise or ecstasy. Which will actually overrule?

THE DANGEROUS DUKE OF DINNISFREE is a fast-paced, well written tale of intrigue as well as romance. Ms. Johnstone is so savvy at merging the two that she has earned a top spot on my favorite author list. I feel Arabella's sorrow and desperation, her need to make sure her family survives. Justin's past has so much to do with his present stance on life, but it is so fascinating to watch his progression from the seemingly cold man of duty, to a man who would do anything for the woman he ultimately loves. Two thumbs up for this fifth tale in A WHISPER OF SCANDAL series by the very talented Julie Johnstone.

Joining Kenner and Davis in the “writer’s room” is an incredible group of New York Times bestselling authors such as Lexi Blake, Elisabeth Naughton, Larissa Ione, Rebecca Zanetti and Lisa Mondello who have brought their vision of Storm to life. A serial soap opera containing eight episodes in season one, the season premiere of Rising Storm, TEMPEST RISING, debuted September 24th with each subsequent episode releasing consecutively this fall.

So get ready. The storm is coming.
