Guest Review by Margie Hager ~ Pure Wicked (Wicked Lovers #9.5) by Shayla Black ~

Pure Wicked by Shayla Black is most definitely one hot, sexy and fun addition to her Wicked Lovers series.  Jesse McCall, the rock star we first met in Decadent, book #2 in the series is back and about to meet his match. Bristol Reece, a small town bakery owner, is introduced here, meets Jesse (who is incognito at the time) and rocks his world.

When I first met Jesse McCall in Decadent I never pictured him as the Knight in Shining Armour type.  Well, guess what – get ready to meet the newly improved Jesse McCall.  He is still handsome, hot and sexy but we finally get to meet the real person, the one Kimber became friends with back in their youth. You will love him!  And Bristol too!

Shayla Black brings her superb writing style to entertain us in this novel with well-developed, three dimensional characters, an exciting plot with intriguing conflict and resolution and very importantly a realistic happily ever after.  I was very much impressed with how well the dialogue enhanced the story line.  For example, when Jesse visits Kimber in an attempt to find some helpful advice after a disaster on tour Deke, her husband answers the door with this line, “Kitten your personal Bieber has decided to drop in.” Chuckle! But some serious conversation follows with Deke’s advice to Jesse who needs some direction in his life, “If you want your life to have meaning, you have to treat all parts of your life as if they are meaningful.” Good dialogue always makes for an excellent read as far as I am concerned.

I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
