EXCERPT FROM BAD WOLF BY JENNIFER ASHLEY

Broderick McNaughton woke with a raging headache, dry mouth, and what felt like hot bands around his wrists. What the fuck?
He didn’t remember getting this drunk. He remembered hanging out at Liam’s bar for a while then heading to the fight club with Spike. Spike was a refreshing guy to be with—he didn’t talk a lot, wasn’t noticeably crazy, and didn’t expect you to speak if there was nothing important to say.
Spike could also kick ass in the fight ring and go out for pizza. Broderick had joined him for the pizza tonight—anything to keep from heading home to his three pain-in-the-ass younger brothers, a half-feral Shifter Feline, and the half-feral’s very protective human mate.
After he’d said good night to Spike, Broderick had dropped in on Sean Morrissey, the Shiftertown’s Guardian, to report on ongoing tracker business. He’d sat with Sean on his back porch a while, watching Sean cuddle his sleeping cub on his lap.
Somewhere between saying good night to Sean and heading home across the dark common yards behind Shifter houses, Broderick had lost consciousness.
The bands around his wrists were real—heavy-duty metal handcuffs. Strong enough for a Shifter, tight enough that even if he shifted to wolf, he wouldn’t be able to slip his big paws out.
Broderick couldn’t see and could barely breathe, because there was a bag over his head, its drawstring tight around his throat.
What the holy fuck?
Broderick’s first instinct was to struggle, to break out of his restraints no matter how strong and kill whoever had done this. His second instinct told him to shut up and lie still and figure out where he was. No sense busting out of the cuffs and bag to find five guys with machine guns waiting for him. Cunning was sometimes the better part of valor.
Broderick remained motionless. He might not be able to see, but he could hear and he could scent, which for a Shifter, were more important senses at times like these.
He smelled humans, not in the room with him, but definitely nearby. His hackles rose. He doubted these humans were police or Shifter Bureau’s mighty patrollers—they’d have put him into a sterilized cage, not bothering with the head bag. When he woke, a Shifter Bureau worker with a clipboard would explain why they’d decided to round him up, cage him, and terminate him.
So, if he hadn’t been caught by Shifter Bureau or police, that left Shifter hunters.
Even as these thoughts formed, Broderick had his doubts. Hunters would have also stuck him into a cage or simply shot him. Besides, no way human hunters could have sneaked into Shiftertown. It was too well guarded by Shiftertown’s trackers, of which Broderick was one.
Then who?
He felt cold stone under his body, smelled musty, dank air behind the head bag. Floorboards creaked, but overhead. He also smelled damp lint and laundry detergent, which meant a washing machine and dryer nearby. Conclusion—he was in somebody’s basement.
Humans lived in this house, not Shifters. So again—what the fuck?
He smelled another odor, one of warm plastic, and he heard a hum of electronics. Interesting.
Broderick should have said screw it tonight and tried to see Joanne. He could be curled up on the sofa with her, watching TV, or ignoring the TV while they explored kissing and touching. Instead he’d been noble and left her alone. What was wrong with him?
A door scraped open, and footsteps headed down a flight of wooden stairs. Heavy treads, men, and the lighter tread of a female. The light steps moved swiftly past the heavy.
“Is this him?” the woman asked, breathless, eager.
Goddess, please don’t tell me this is a Shifter groupie who wants a shag. I might throw up on her.
The bag loosened, and then was ripped from Broderick’s head. He still couldn’t see—a blindfold covered his eyes. Light penetrated the cloth, a very bright one, as though someone shone a flashlight on his face.
He felt breath touch his cheek, feminine, almost sweet, but cold and rapid with excitement. A small hand in his hair raised his head. Broderick suppressed his growl, his urge to snap out of the restraints and attack.
“Are you sure this is him?” the woman asked. She sounded young, especially for a human, past teen years, but not much. Broderick’s head was moved left and right, the woman’s breath coming faster. “Wait …” She released him abruptly, and Broderick’s head clunked to the cement floor.
“What the hell did you bring me?” she demanded.
“The Shifter who came out of the Guardian’s back door,” a man answered. His voice was deep, holding strength, yet Broderick heard and smelled his fear. Of a woman not much older than a cub?
“This isn’t him!” She climbed to her feet, her voice shrill. The flashlight beamed against Broderick’s blindfold. “Does this look like a Feline? He’s Lupine, you idiot.”
“How the hell are we supposed to tell the difference?” the man asked with the annoyance of a scared person. “You didn’t give us a picture to go by.”
“Four Shifters live in that house,” the young woman snapped. “Two are female. I would have thought you had at least a fifty-fifty chance of snatching the right male. But no, you had to bring me someone completely off the chart. He’s obviously a grunt worker. No use to me at all!”
Was she insane? The two Shifters who lived in Sean’s house were Sean, the Shiftertown Guardian, and his father, Dylan. If this woman’s thugs had captured Dylan, he’d have killed her by now and all these guys too—and joined Spike for three pizzas. Sean wouldn’t have been much safer for her, but maybe a little more polite before he left their bodies in broken piles.
Ah, the lucky sons of bitches. They’d snagged Broderick instead.

Her Fierce Warrior (X-Ops #4) by Paige Tyler #BOC EXCLUSIVE WITH PAIGE AND A LITTLE GIVEAWAY!

AUTHOR PAIGE TYLER HAS A GREAT NEW BOOK OUT!
HER FIERCE WARRIOR IS ON BOOKSHELVES HEAR YOU!

JUST FOR SOME FUN, PAIGE HAS SELECTED A FEW QUOTES FROM HER LATEST RELEASE AND SHE TELLS US WHY SHE LIKES THEM!

GIVEAWAY:
READ ALL THE QUOTES AND COMMENT ON WHICH ONE DRAWS YOU THE MOST. TWO COMMENTORS WILL WIN PRINT COPIES OF
HER FIERCE WARRIOR!

1. This first snippet gives the reader a good sense for the beast that Minka has been turned into and how she is almost a prisoner inside her own body when it takes over.

“Minka desperately tried to rein in the beast, but it was like she was on the outside of the abandoned house looking in. She knew she was the one tearing the men apart, but she was no longer in control. She wasn’t sure she ever would be again.”

2. This part shows the instant connection between Minka and Angelo in a few simple sentences.

“When she buried her face in his neck, he just about freaked, sure she was going to tear out his throat. He resisted the urge to shove her away and go for his gun, instead continuing to talk to her. Unbelievably, she didn’t bite him. She kept struggling to free herself, though. But after a few moments, she went still, all her fight gone.”

3. I love this quote because it shows how Angelo sees Minka.

“After she’d finished eating, Minka had snuggled up against his chest and fallen asleep again. Angelo should have slept too, but he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Even after everything she had obviously been through—exhaustion, starvation, torture—she looked like an angel. A beautiful, peaceful angel. Seeing Minka like this, it was hard to believe she was a hybrid. She looked more like the kind of girl he’d take out on a date—if he was the kind of guy who bothered with dates.”

4. This quote displays Angelo’s “unique” people skills.

“Angelo glowered at the doctor. The man had his arm wrapped around his stomach where Angelo had given him a shove. ‘You try that again and I’ll put the next syringe up your ass. She doesn’t do needles. Do I make myself clear?’”

5. My final favorite quote gives readers a little peek at the heat between Minka and Angelo.

“That was when she caught sight of Angelo standing there. He was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, water dripping from his long, wet hair to plaster the tight material to his skin.
He looked…amazing. She felt her pulse start to beat faster again and tried to look somewhere else, but it was useless. Every time she looked away, her gaze snapped right back to him.”

An Excerpt:
“So what did you and Landon do this afternoon?” Minka asked, her soft voice dragging him back to the present.
Angelo looked up to see that Minka had already polished off two fajitas. Damn, the girl could eat. “Landon gave me a tour of the DCO complex. I did some target shooting and blew up a few things. He even let me play with the expensive surveillance toys. I swear, it felt more like a recruiting pitch to get me to work there than anything.”
Minka’s eyes flashed green, her full lips curving slightly. Damn, why the hell had he said it like that? Now she probably thought he was going to come work for the DCO. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t, not after just reenlisting for another five years. The army wasn’t the kind of job where you could walk into the boss’s office and say, “I quit.”
Thinking it would be a good idea to steer the conversation back to safer ground, he reached for another fajita and asked Minka a question instead. “What do you think you’ll work on next with Ivy and Tanner? You going to practice with the claws for a while or move on to something else?”
Angelo felt a little crappy about changing the subject, but if Minka noticed, she didn’t seem to mind. And it wasn’t like he had to fake interest in what she was saying. Anything that involved Minka was important to him. Besides, he didn’t know much about shifters or hybrids, so the whole thing was pretty damn fascinating.
“What do you visualize when you see the beast in your mind?” he asked.
“Before today, I thought of it as a giant, blurry monster.
But after learning that the beast is a cat, that’s how I picture it now.” She smiled. “Not a little house cat, of course. They aren’t scary enough. More like a big cat that roams the mountains.”
“Makes sense,” he said.
Minka set the other half of her fourth fajita on her plate and gave him a curious look. “Would you mind if I ask you a personal question?”
His mouth twitched as he prepared another fajita. He wasn’t used to Minka being so reserved. She usually said whatever was on her mind, regardless of whether it was personal or not.
“Go ahead,” he said.
“The first time we met, I had claws, fangs, glowing red eyes, and I tried to kill you. Since then, I’ve spent most of the time telling you about an imaginary creature that lives inside my head and makes me act like a monster. How are you so calm about that? Most people would have run away already.”
Angelo chuckled. Not exactly the personal question he’d expected, but then again Minka rarely did the expected.
“Well, my mom was full-blooded Cherokee, and I grew up around all kinds of Indian folktales and legends.
My dad was in the army, and whenever he was deployed, Mom would take my sisters and me back to the reservation where she grew up in Oklahoma. I’d stay up half the night listening to the old men tell stories about shape-shifters, animal spirits, skin-walkers, and trickster spirits.” He grinned. “I’m not saying I necessarily believed in all that stuff back then, but after meeting Ivy, Tanner, and the other shifters at the DCO, it just didn’t faze me that much.”
Minka looked at him with wide eyes. “You’re a real American Indian? Like in the movies? With horses and everything?”
He laughed again. The expression of wonder on her face was adorable. “First, I’m only half-Indian. My dad is Mexican, so there’s that. And second, Native Americans are almost nothing like you see in the movies. We don’t all live in tepees and ride horses. In fact, I don’t even own a horse.”
Minka was a little disappointed about the no-horse thing, but she was fascinated with what it was like growing up on an Indian reservation and being surrounded by all those legends. She immediately asked him to tell her some Indian stories. It had been a long time since he’d thought about them, but to make her happy, he dug through his head and tried to remember every tale he’d heard as a kid.

Title: Her Fierce Warrior

The woman tensed. As anger and fear ricocheted across her face, her eyes changed from red to green to brown in a dizzying display like nothing he’d ever seen.

Every instinct in Angelo’s body screamed at him to lunge for his weapon. Instead he set his feet for impact, blocking her slashing claws. Unbelievably, after a few moments of struggling, she went still, all the fight gone…

Minka isn’t sure she should trust the sexy Special Forces soldier who found her. Subjected to horrors, on the run from scientists set on locking her in a cage, Minka is terrified of the monster she’s becoming…and somehow, Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast inside her and make her feel safe.

But can she trust the way he makes her feel when she’s not even sure she can trust herself?

#BOC CHEERLEADERS FOR ROMANCE PRESENTS ** SANDRA SOUSA**

Greetings all and welcome to
CHEERLEADERS FOR ROMANCE.
27 years ago, I married into the Portuguese community here in Mineola, NY. I learned to speak the language rather quickly and have been to Portugal several times. Through the magic of Facebook, I discovered lovers of the romance genre all over the world and immediately was drawn to the romance realm in Portugal. Having met a few awesome bloggers and romance readers online who are very serious about the genre, it's only fair that I spread the word. So without further ado, here is the lovely, Sandra Sousa, who not only blogs about books, but talks about it on her local television station.

Please tell us a bit about yourself…
I'm 29 years old and I studied educational psychology but right now I do not work in the area. I'm working with the mayor in the city hall where I live. I was born in Venezuela but then came with my parents to Madeira-Portugal.  Firstly I love books. I love to read them and smell them ... I love everything that has to do with books. I consider myself an empathetic person and who is a friend of his friends. I love to make people happy and I am very dreamy. Always believe the best in people ...

When did you fall in love with the romance genre?
I am a romantic person from an early age. Always I liked fairy tales and when I was 13 I first read the book "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. From then on I never stopped reading novels.

What made you decide to help spread the word about romance?
Four years ago I read a lot and eventually forget what books I had read so decided to create a blog where i put the books I read. Over time, the blog evolved and many people commented and began to follow me ... So I decided to make it more professional and to advertise something that I loved. I love it when people do not read a lot and now say they love novels because of me.

Who are your favorite authors?
I love many authors, it is so hard to choose! But I love:
Nicholas Sparks; Madeline Hunter; Eloisa James; Kate Pearce; Paulinna Simons; Florencia Bonelli; Jojo Moyes; Jude Deveraux; Robyn Carr; Dorothy Koomson; Nora Roberts and many others!

Do you have any advice for others who want to be romance cheerleaders?
If you like you just have to share it because eventually you gonna reach several people and will help many writers.

What new books have you been shouting out about lately?
I'm very limited to what is published in Portugal. But lately I have been reading some series that I loved. They are: Chesapeake Bay Saga by Nora Roberts; Castles Ever After by Tessa Dare; The Rules of Scoundrels by Sarah MacLean. They are romantic and fun.  I'm addicted!

What do you do when you’re not shouting out about great books?
When I'm not talking about books I am in my new house with my fiance (yes I'm engaged!), With my family or with my friends. I will also talk on television about ... guess what ... books! I write for the local newspaper and enjoy making desserts. .  I love to talk, take long walks in the evening when you get to see the setting of the sun. I love watching romantic movies that make me cry a lot and love to watch horror movies just like watching TV series. I like to be alone at home with my dogs, quiet and calm. I do not like confusion and places with lots of people.

Your Top 10 in Romance….
This one is difficult for me…but here it goes:
The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman #1) by Paullina Simons

Me Before You (Me Before You #1) by Jojo Moyes

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Saga Bridgertons by Julia Quinn

Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward

O Quarto Arcano - O Anjo Negro by Florencia Bonelli

O Quarto Arcano - O Porto das Tormentas by Florencia Bonelli

Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas

Kendrick/Coulter/Harrigan series by Catherine Anderson

Their Reluctant Bride (Bridgewater Menage, #6) by Vanessa Vale

Their Reluctant Bride
Book 6
Bridgewater Ménage Series

Genre: Historical Western Erotic
Word count: 35,000

Synopsis:
Emily Woodhouse is a penniless, homeless widow thanks to her recently deceased husband. His gambling ways have placed her in a desperate situation. Faced with working off his debt in the basest of ways, she chooses instead to accept Tyler and Xander's unconventional marriage proposal. She won't be marrying one man, but two.

Tyler and Xander know instantly that Emily is the one for them. Not only does the widowed young woman rouse their protective natures, she knows of their customs regarding a two husband marriage. Despite the fact that Emily needs the safety they can offer, she isn't eager to remarry. She might be reluctant, but they will show her what it will be like with two men to cherish, protect and possess her.

But the past catches up with them in the most dangerous of ways. Only in facing the past can they forge a future together.

Excerpt (NSFW version):

Xander looked at me for one short moment, then lowered himself to his knees and began lifting up the long hem of my dress.
I tried to swat his hands away, but he was not to be deterred.
“What are you doing?” I squeaked. It was one thing to agree to marry and… fuck them, but it was another to do it right now.
“I’m going to show you how it’s going to be between us,”
“Yes, but why are you on your knees? Shouldn’t we be in bed? It’s not dark out,” I stammered, my palms pressing against the wood of the door.
He looked up at me and grinned. His teeth were white compared to his tanned skin and dark beard.
“You are a little reluctant after all.”
All of a sudden I was very reluctant.
“Don’t worry, baby, he’s going to make you feel good,” Mr. Tyler said, his voice a smooth timbre. He moved closer. Backed against the door, one man at my feet and the other just beside me, I had nowhere to go.

Excerpt (SFW version):
You need a wife and Emily is perfect.”
“She’s just lost her husband. How could she be perfect if she’s clearly not interested?” I angled my head toward the direction she’d gone.
“Her husband gambled and drank to excess. While she never once confessed it, I believe he hit her. He was cruel to her at the very least. She is not the least bit sorry he’s dead. In fact, if she weren’t such a nice person, she’d be dancing on his grave.”
The idea of anyone hurting Mrs. Woodhouse made my hands clench. She was too small, too… dainty—even with her lush curves—to protect herself from the likes of a man Olivia described.
“Then she can find a man she truly likes this time around. She’s young, beautiful. She’s a catch for any man in town.”
Olivia grinned. “So you think she’s beautiful?”
“Any conscious man would think so,” I countered.
“Then you should offer for her.”
I sighed, exasperated. “Why?”
“Because you and Xander need a wife.”
I shook my head. “We do not need a wife.”
“I see the way you look at the couples at Bridgewater. Everyone’s happily married. It’s hard, I’m sure, for you to witness since no one else marries like we do. Like your parents. You want a marriage with Xander like all of us at Bridgewater. Admit it.”
“Of course I admit it. I won’t marry any other way.” I put my hand up. “That does not mean that our bride should be Mrs. Woodhouse.”
Olivia pursed her lips. “She has to marry.”
My brows went up. “Again, why?”
“The bank is taking the ranch. Debts, most of them I’m sure are because of her husband’s gambling. She has no place to go. No money. She’ll have to get a job and there are none, unless she wants to work on her back.”
“Olivia,” I warned.
“What? It’s true.” Olivia took a deep breath. “She’s going to have to marry. A woman doesn’t have any other options. It might as well be you.”
I frowned. “Is that a compliment?”
“Of course, it is. She deserves someone—or two someones—who will be good to her. I know you and Xander would be. Plus, I know her well and she knows about how we marry. I like her. Trust me, you’ll be well suited.”
I turned so I could look at the woman’s retreating figure. Well suited? I had no doubt we’d be very compatible in bed. She would be no hardship to look at. That did not make a marriage, but it certainly helped.

Vanessa Vale bio:
USA Today Bestselling author

Who doesn't love the romance of the old West? Vanessa Vale takes the sensual appeal of rugged cowboys a step further with her bestselling books set in the Montana Territory. They are much more than just sexy historical westerns. They're deliciously naughty reads that sometimes push the boundaries of fantasy. It's pure escapism with quite a few very hot, very alpha cowboys.

When she's not writing, Vanessa savors the insanity of raising two boys, is figuring out how many meals she can make with a pressure cooker, and teaches a pretty mean karate class. She considers herself to be remarkably normal, exceedingly introverted and fairly vanilla, which does not explain her steamy stories and her fascination with cowboys, preferably more than one at a time.

She lives in the Wild Wild West where there's an endless source of 'research' material.

DANCE OF DESIRE by Christopher Rice is just plain awesome. This story has everything I want, a hot cowboy and two people who were destined to be together but circumstances kept apart. This well-told tale which engages from beginning to end, is a great read, not to be missed.

EXCERPT: “What time was it last night when you saw the moon?”she’d asked him. “Past midnight.” “But you only went to bed at eleven.” “I couldn’t sleep.” They both knew what thoughts were keeping him awake, thoughts of his father’s drinking and of how crazy his mother was going trying to rein it all in. “Wake me up next time,” she’d told him. “I’ll keep you company.” Such simple words, but she’d felt like she was jumping off the edge of a cliff when she’d said them. Instead of answering, Caleb gave her a long look as he fiddled with the leg of his shorts. She’d silently cursed herself, called herself an idiot and worse. Caleb was just a friend. Honestly, he wasn’t even that, was he? Circumstances had thrown them together, that was all. He was the son of her father’s best friend, so they were basically like distant cousins, only with no shared blood in their veins. Crazy of her to think there might be more there. If her friends could see her now, they’d probably laugh at her; the same friends who’d swooned that day her father had picked her up from school with Caleb in the passenger seat of his truck, and Caleb, wearing a Stetson that was about a half-size too big for his head, had given them a cocky grin, looked right into her eyes and said, Afternoon, pretty lady. Not afternoon pretty ladies, even though she’d had about four other girls standing on the curb next to her when he’d said it. Clearly she’d made way too much of that moment. Sometimes afternoon just meant, afternoonand pretty lady was what a guy called you when he was trying to look cool. Or so she’d thought earlier that day. Before he took her up on her offer and woke her up in the middle of the night so they could look at the moon together. Which they do. Because it’s beautiful. When he lowers his right hand, the same hand with which he was just pointing to the night sky, her breath catches. Every muscle in her body tenses in anticipation. Where will it land? RELEASE DAY BLOG BLAST ** ROGUE: SONS OF SANGUE #4 by PATRICIA A. RASEY**: IN ADDITION, A BOXED SET SALE AND GIVEAWAY

Welcome all to a day so many have waited for, release day for Patricia A. Rasey's
ROGUE: SONS OF SANGUE #4

BOOK SUMMARY
Vampire MC member Anton “Rogue” Balan, aka Blondy, has turned his back on the powerful Sons of Sangue, betraying the brotherhood he once considered his family. Or so his vampire brethren think. Changing his appearance, his persona, and signing up with rival gang, the Devils, Rogue has gone deep undercover to catch the La Paz Cartel’s kingpin. Having lost a woman he once thought he would spend eternity with, Rogue now feels he has nothing left to lose . . . that is until a temptation named Kimber James invades his dangerous world.
Strait-laced Kimber has a problem and his name is Anton Balan. After an impulsive night of passion with him more than a year ago, the small-town librarian still has the hots for the sexy biker next door. She can’t deny her desire for Anton, even though she suspects he’s hiding a secret even darker than his affiliation with an outlaw MC. As for Rogue, no matter how much he tries to refuse the scorching need he has for Kimber—as much as his duty depends on it—he’s powerless to deny his rising feelings for her. And when a blindside by an enemy he once trusted puts Kimber’s life at risk, Rogue’s tarnished honor is put to the ultimate test.

Excerpt:

“Where you off to, Rogue? Use some company?”

Bobby happened to be the one Devil Anton could say he actually liked. He placed the cap on his head and buckled it beneath his chin. “Not today, Preacher. I’m going north for a few days. You tell Tank I’ll be back in about a week. If he needs me, he can call. I’ll be a day’s ride out.”
He scratched his whiskered chin. “I doubt he’ll be too happy to hear you left these boys on their own.”

“They aren’t fucking kindergartners. You tell them boys if they give me cause, I’ll give them a beat down when I return.”

“What do you want me to tell Tank?”

“I don’t give a fuck. For all I care, you can tell him I have a piece of ass I need to attend to.” Which brought one woman to the forefront of his mind.

Kimber James.

All legs and tits large enough to make a grown man’s mouth water.

He always had been a breast man, and Kimber certainly had more than her fare share. Pillows from heaven. Too bad she’d no doubt rather take on a pit of vipers than bed his sorry ass again.

He shook his head at the injustice.

Being Mr. Nice Guy had gotten him on the fast track to nowhere.

His former best friend hated him and had mated with the one woman Anton thought he could be happy spending the rest of his days with. Tamera Cantrell, though, wasn’t meant for Anton as much as he might’ve envisioned at one time. She belonged with Grayson “Gypsy” Gabor, no matter how much Anton had hoped otherwise.

Which brought him back to Kimber James.

The last time Anton had seen her, he had all but run her cute little derriere out of his house, while she cursed the ground beneath his feet. The motorcycle cut he wore over his white tank weighed heavy, damning him for the very thing she detested.

Her parting words mocked him. “Too bad. I really thought you might be one of the good guys.”

Yeah, well so did he. Anton turned the key to his motorcycle and gassed the engine. With a final nod to Bobby, he turned the big bike around in the parking lot and aimed it north. With any luck, he’d leave California behind in a few short hours and be back on familiar turf.

First stop? The Blood ‘n’ Rave. He could certainly use one of the blood donors the barkeep, Draven, had hand selected for the secret society that fed the Sons of Sangue. He’d have to use the back door to keep any of his fellow MC brothers from seeing him. Even though his entire life at the moment was a ruse, the rest of his brothers actually believed him to be a traitor.

Tightening his hands on the rubber grips of his sixteen inch ape hangers, he pulled back on the gas and buried the needle of his speedometer. The taller handlebars aided in a more comfortable ride for someone of his height. Comfort was certainly key with the long ride he had ahead of him. Anton planned to lay his head on his pillow at his farmhouse on the coast before the sun rose over the Pacific.
