AUTHOR ROLL CALL WITH **KAT MARTIN** Into the Fury (BOSS, Inc. #1) Q&A, Review and Giveaway

Greetings to all. Thanks for coming on over to Book Obsessed Chicks. I am always so happy to have Kat Martin here on the blog. Every single book I have picked up by this uber talented author has been a hit for me. Whether it's her historical romances or her romantic suspense, Kat Martin has given me countless hours of reading enjoyment and I hope the same is for you all. I hope you enjoy our little Q&A session!

Q&A WITH KAT MARTIN.

Where did you get the idea to use the fashion industry for a focus in INTO THE FURY?
I rarely know where my ideas  come from.  They just sort of pop into my head.  They usually hang around for a couple of years before they actually turn into a book.  Maybe I saw a Victoria’s Secret show somewhere, but I don’t think so--not until I started researching the book.
From your wonderful descriptions of the Seattle area, I was wondering what kind of research you did to get to know Washington better?
I live 550 miles from Seattle so we are there every few years.  I love the city.  We were there again during the time I was writing the book, but I was pretty comfortable with the area.  I had written another novel, The Summit, also a Romantic Suspense but a paranormal that was set there.
I really fell for Ethan, but I am very intrigued with Luke. When will we get to read his story?
May 31 is Into the Whirlwind.  That is Dirk and Meg’s story and one of my personal favorites.  Dirk and Luke are best friends so you get to see a lot of Luke.  Into the Firestorm, the final book in the trilogy, isn’t out next year, but it’s another of my personal favs.  Those two books were really fantastic to write because the two guys were so terrific.
You have chosen a colorful cast of characters for this series… Do you use people you know as a template for your characters?
No, I just make people up!  Just like most writers.  I suppose I could see someone on the street or in a movie and kind of file away their looks or some of their personality traits.
Do you plot out your books or are you a pantser?
I would love to plot them but unfortunately, it just doesn’t work that way for me anytmore.  When I wrote historicals it was easier to plot the whole book.  Now I have to follow the mystery, the evidence that’s collected, etc.  I do know a lot of what is going to happen, but not all.  It’s a terrifying way to write!
When you aren’t writing, how do you have fun?
I work a LOT.  If I’m not working I’m usually traveling, doing something connected with work.  Yesterday, I did take a day off and my hubby and I went to LA to see Mama Mia at the Pantages in Hollywood, then spent the night at a very swank hotel and returned today.  That was a true day off.
Will you ever write historical again?
I’m afraid I am into a different world these days.  My heroes and heroines have grown up just as I have.  So probably not.
       What have you been reading?
I’m a readaholic, so I’m always reading.  More like who have I been reading.   Julie James and Rebecca Zanetti, JT Ellison with her Brit in the FBI book. Those were recent reads.  Also Kristen Hannah’s latest, The Nightingale.
Name one place you haven’t been, but want to travel to.
I’d like to go to China someday but the flight is sooo long, I’ll probably never get there.
Where will your fans be able to see you in 2016?
L.J. and I are in Cheyenne, Wyoming  for Western Writers of America June 21-26.   Great fun group.  I’m at Thrillerfest in New York City July 5-10.  RWA in San Diego July 13-17.   I’d love to say hello to any of my readers who happen to be in town.   Hope to see you, Kim!

REVIEW
Sworn off women due to a disastrous relationship with the mother of his young daughter, former Police officer, Ethan Brodie is cool, calculated and all business. But when the handsome P.I. takes on the job of protecting beautiful top models his reserve is shaken when he meets a woman like no other.

Valentine Hart is a complete contradiction. Outwardly flawless, this model hired by the LaBelle Lingerie Company is far more than meets the eye. This intelligent and articulate young lady has an agenda that has nothing to do with the modeling industry but she needs the LaBelle to achieve her goals. From the minute she meets Ethan Brodie, sparks fly, but his job is to protect the models from a major threat. It appears that some religious fanatic has singled out the LaBelle ladies and the notes sent to some of the models has the BOSS Inc. agency on high alert.

In as much a Ethan wants to steer clear of Val, he is drawn to her with every little detail he learns  about the woman behind the pretty face. Val also sees Ethan for the man he is under his reluctant demeanor. As the danger heats up, so do their emotions for one another, but can Ethan keep her safe and at arm's length? Does he really want to? Hmmm, that's a mystery worth finding out in of itself.
Once Ethan and his BOSS team members investigate, they find that there is more going on than they ever could have anticipated and keeping these models out of danger is a full time job.

INTO THE FIRE (BOSS Inc. #1) by the incomparable Kat Martin is a story that will have the reader on edge and nail-biting the way through. Handsome and cocky, Ethan's character is strong and with depth. His personal woes have made him into a cynic, but not totally closed off to the right kind of stimulus. Val is exactly the kind of woman to bring Ethan around. Gorgeous but also intelligent, this hard working woman has a bright future ahead of her.

Kat Martin never fails to take a reader to places they have never been before. I for one, know when I grab one of her books, I am in for an adventure. So Kat, bring on the next great read!

COMING IN MAY!

A bodyguard, a bounty hunter, a private investigator, no one can handle the heat like the men of BOSS, Inc.

Megan O'Brien is at her wit's end. Her three-year-old son has been kidnapped. No police, says the ransom demand. Fearing for her son's life, Meg has no choice but to turn to her former bodyguard, Dirk Reynolds.

Dirk's never forgiven Meg for the way she left him after their brief affair. But with bounty hunter Luke Brodie on his side, Dirk knows he's got to help Meg rescue her son.

The few clues they’ve gathered send them spiraling into a murky world of big banking and international crime. Meg may be way out of her depths, but she’s seeing a side of Dirk she never suspected—one no woman could possibly resist.

A  NOTE FROM KAT MARTIN:
In my new book, INTO THE FURY, meet Ethan Brodie, one of the hot Brodie cousins.  Ethan works with Nick in Seattle, at Brodie Operations Security Services--BOSS, Inc, the guys call it.  Ethan’s current assignment, working as a bodyguard for the La Belle lingerie fashion show tour, is the last thing he wants.  He's already got more woman-trouble than he can handle.
But when the models begin to get threatening notes and one of them is murdered, it’s Ethan's job to keep the women safe.  He’s determined to ignore his attraction to blond bombshell, Valentine Hart, but he’s promised Nick’s wife Samantha he’ll protect her super-model friend--which makes Val Ethan's first priority.
It's a high-action, romantic adventure filled with passion and intrigue.  I hope you’ll watch for INTO THE FURY.
Very best wishes and happy reading.  Kat

  3. I love all of Kat's books. I love the Raines Brothers series, but what made me fall in love with her was her Bride's series. I can't choose just one favorite from that series so choosing them all. I am dying to read this new book. Thanks for the chance to win.
