This second chance romance by Julie Johnstone is a wonderful read and my favorite of this series so far. Two broken people coming together to try to repair all the hurt that has been reaped upon them in their short lives.
Alex MacLean has been through indescribable atrocities which haunt him every time he lays his head down to rest and Lena MacLeod was only saved from an evil husband and his cruelty by his demise. Once again, of use to a King who has an agenda, Lena is thrown into the marriage pool, where Alex vows to be the gentle husband Lena deserves after all the pain.
Secrets will keep these kindred souls apart if they don't open up their hearts and minds to each other, as the intrigue going on around them threatens their union. Will they overcome the barriers?
