The Darker Side of Heaven by KB Cutter

Here is a review of talented new author KB Cutter's read  The Darker Side of Heaven by guest reviewer Jenn after the synopsis!

Shadows lengthen over the world. Turmoil rages.

Something evil this way comes . . . .
Emotionally conflicted avenger Chalice Noire, product of an unholy union between demon and angel, is a slayer to the forces of darkness. Employed by shadowy benefactors in Rome, her sect is commanded by fallen angel Nikolai Voss, whose allegiance is not to the church but to the flame of vengeance that burns within.

But Chalice possesses a holy relic, a Weapon of the Mass, Nikolai desperately craves, and he will stop at nothing to retrieve it, destroying anything or anyone, including his own soul.

Renegade vampire Adam Blake is a recluse, attempting to bury his troubled past and the tortured memory of his former lover, Chalice Noire, in America's last frontier: the Alaskan wilderness.
Armageddon looms, the agents of light and darkness gather forces. The battle to be fought not on the sands of prophecy, but in the rugged beauty of Alaska, where Chalice and Adam once again cross paths. Can they reconcile their past to save humanity's future?(less)

 HERE IS JENN'S REVIEW!!!!!

I'm so glad I discovered this talented author. I'm a sucker for dark, edgy paranormal and this definitely fit the bill. At its core it's a romance, but a very different one, between characters that are not one-dimensional, but beautifully conflicted. Nothing is black and white here and the good comes with sacrifice. I find this refreshing, as it's not the norm in a lot of romance out there. The writing is evocative and sexy in spades. Lots of great down and dirty stuff :)
I won't break down plot details, but suffice it to say that it includes one kick-ass heroine in Chalice, a slayer of evil, and her former lover, vampire Adam Blake. They come together again in a battle against darkness that's quite the ride. I loved the opening on Fire Island and transition to Alaska. There's a whole host of other interesting characters and beings we meet along the way, enough to say that I hope there's more to come, because there's so much potential. You could build a series on this, K.B. Loved it!

  3. Oh, it was my pleasure :) I'd love to see this as a series! It's got all the makings of one and the characters are very memorable. I want more, KB!! And BTW, epic Shakespearean quote to open it up. Much respect for that one :)
