Hot, Hot, and More
Heat
With summer upon us, we all expect a little heat, but lately
I think Mother Nature has decided we need to really sweat. I mean come on, one
hundred and seventeen in Las Vegas? Hell, we were in the nineties for the past
four days and I thought I was going to die. Oh, I live in Ohio, in case you
didn’t know. Even Alaska is experiencing a heat wave.
Hello, Mother Nature, can you hear me? Can you please tone
the dial down a little? Sigh, I don’t think she’s listening. So, to celebrate
summer and all its hotness, I’m giving away a summer basket full of goodies: nail
polish, file, nail polish remover, everything you need to give yourself a nice
pedicure to look great on the beach. A few other things were thrown into the
pot, too: chocolate, alcohol (adults only), and of course, one of my print
books.
Now it’s my turn to increase the heat with my new release,
Surrender Your Independence. Why not sit back while your toe and finger nails
are drying and read this hot short story.
Blurb: Tamara Crozier, an Army
registered nurse with one tour of Afghanistan behind her, just wants a night on
the beach, holiday fireworks and some quiet time to unwind. What she got was
way more than she expected. Could she surrender her heart, soul and independence
to the two men, or whatever they call themselves?
Gage Evans and Lars Cooper were
not only members of the Other Unit, they were also lovers. When Gage decided it
was time for them to relax and enjoy the holiday, neither of them expected to
find their consort sitting in the lobby of the hotel they’d booked.
Could they help her forget the nightmares
of her past? Would she embrace their dark love?
Or, if you like your tales longer and hotter, why not try my
first story in the new series, Masters of the Cats: Collaring the Saber-Tooth.
Blurb: Light years away, the Tetraheros came together. Their
creation, the Cometedge race, is on the verge of extinction, even with the
female companions provided to them throughout the years. Meanwhile one lone rogue
has tried to wipe out the feline shifter population on Earth. There was only
one solution: The Cometedge Pact. Three warriors are bound to every female,
connecting two separate races through a sense of duty, blood, sex, and love.
Contest rules: Just leave me a little note below on what you
are doing to stay cool this summer and your email to be entered. For a second
shot at winning, review any of my books anywhere and post the link here. I’ll
even pick a runner-up who can choose any one of my books and I’ll send a PDF copy
to you. Remember, contest ends July 10. Good luck!
You are awesome :)

ReplyDeleteApparently my google account is tag-teaming with mother nature in crankiness and ate my first comment and made my second one look weird. Let's try this again... :)
ReplyDeleteIt felt more like August in Ohio than June! Living in the air conditioning or going to the Lake Erie Islands to stay cool...or running around in the rain. All this rain has to be useful for something lol
Surrender Your Independence on my TBR list!
The heat never did bother me, but this year has been oppressive. I walk early and then hide away in a shady spot and read with a glass of sparkling water by my side. Best wishes and enjoy your summer. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI hope to go to the beach since summer is beach time. Cooling off at the beach is easy, just walk along the shore, stay all day and relax under an umbrella. Lovely. elliotbencan(at)hotmail(dot)com

All you can do to stay cool in the heat of the summer, is find a comfy outdoor recliner (or hammock), a nice shady tree (or two), a tall cool drink (or two) and a fully charged kindle....works for me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteStaying indoors with the a/c!
ReplyDeleteHang out by the lake, find a nice quiet spot in the rec room where I can hide from the demands of my teens and enjoy uninterrupted reading time! A nice ice tea works too!
ReplyDeleteI stay indoors as much as possible, with the air conditioner running. I also always have something cold to drink (generally just a glass of ice cold water) while I curl up with my Kindle :)
ReplyDeleteBoth books sound great...hard to pick which one sounds best, LOL.

I am working inside all the time so I stay pretty cool. Hoping a quick trip to the beach will also help. Thanks for the giveaway. Loved the book!

I loved Surrender Your Independene. Great story.
ReplyDeleteIn Ohio I'm trying to stay warm, not cool! It hasn't even reached 80 degrees in two weeks.
ReplyDeleteLoved Surrender Your Independence.
In Ohio, we're having a deluge of rain along with flood watches and warnings. I have a ceiling fan which helps keep the air moving and drink plenty of filtered cold water. As a medical professional, having a nurse in the story is intriguing.
ReplyDeleteWell, being that I live in sweltering Phoenix, I for the most part stay indoors. Unless we go over to the pool at my sisters apt., or else I'll just go to the mall and walk around the air-conditioned stores :)
